Biographies
Michael Peacock – Creative Director & Co- Founder
Michael was born and bred in Manchester. He trained at the Arden School of Theatre. As a writer, he has had some work published and has worked for the Soho Theatre Company. He has written 20 shows for Rhema in the last 9 years. As a director, Michael worked as far afield as Bosnia, Uganda and Slovenia and has directed most of the Rhema productions to date.
In 2001 he founded Rhema with wife Rebecca with a passion to see Bible stories brought to life in an entertaining yet relevant way. His hope is that audiences both young and old can take lessons from them for life today. He is also passionate about young people across this country being built up in the area of self-esteem.
Rebecca Peacock – Creative Director & Co – Founder
Rebecca grew up in Gloucestershire within a family of musicians and trained as a viola player at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Wells Cathedral School. She went on to study music then drama at Middlesex University.
Rebecca has adapted and composed all the music in every Rhema show to date. As a musician/actor she has toured as far afield as Argentina, Italy, Belgium and Hong-Kong. Rebecca is passionate about young people growing up to make a difference in this country. She hopes that Rhema can assist in this by offering fun theatre with a real moral foundation, to enable young people to think clearly about making good and right choices.
Esther Finney – Education Officer
Esther graduated from Exeter University in 2008 gaining a BA Hons in Drama. Performances included playing Bottom in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Fezzik the giant, The Princess Bride and Fish Footman in Alice in Wonderland at the Edinburgh Festival. Other previous experiences include performing with the National Youth Music Theatre and Bristol Old Vic summer school.
Esther is extremely passionate about working with young people and children and seeing them reach their potential, especially through the medium of drama. She currently runs a drama club in the Stretford area of Manchester for children in the local area. Esther has worked on and off with Rhema as an actor since 2010 touring Easter Tales, A Fishy Tale, Angel’s Delight and Terrific Tales. She is delighted to be working as Education Officer and have the chance to deliver interactive workshops around the RE, Citizenship curriculum and SEAL initiative that both excite and provoke children as they learn.
